Dear Hockey Parents:

The warm weather is upon us as we look to getting outdoors and enjoying the pleasures of spring. Minor hockey has taken a back seat to baseball, soccer and other summer sports as we move towards the end of the school year.

Really though, this is the beginning of Minor Hockey. Registration for hockey is on June 7th at the Fogolar Furlan Club from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Hockey is a great sport that is enjoyed by many Canadians; but we have to be honest, hockey is more expensive than soccer or baseball. I know that many people are looking at their options and have to make a tough decision when it comes to hockey.

The WMHA recognizes the current financial situation that many people in Windsor & Essex County find themselves in and have made a determined effort to put forth the best Minor Hockey program in Essex County.

Why do we have the best Minor Hockey program in Essex County? Here are some reasons why:

• All of our teams play a minimum of 23 games;
• All of our teams have a minimum of 23 practices;
• All of our players keep their jerseys & socks at the end of the season;
• Our Novice teams play full ice games;
• Our Tyke players get a Christmas party with McDonalds & the Spitfires;
• Novice registration includes a Christmas tournament & Christmas party;
• Our Novice teams have an on ice clinic once every 4 weeks;
• We supply goaltender equipment from Novice to Pee Wee;
• Our games from Atom to Midget are 1hr & 15 minutes to 1hr & 30 minutes time slots;
• Our teams from Peewee & up play full contact;
• We have goaltenders & player’s skills clinics available to WMHA players;
• We have the best web site around updated daily;
• We use only great & clean City of Windsor rinks;
• All of our volunteers (Coaches, Trainers, etc.) receive OMHA training & are certified at our expense;
• All of our Referees are OMHA certified;
• For an affordable price there is an end of the year banquet for Novice to Bantam for players & parents that includes great food & prizes;
• We have a free Volunteer banquet for all of our volunteers at the end of the season;
• We work with the OMHA & Hockey Canada to bring special clinics to the WMHA;
• Our relationship with the Windsor Spitfires includes players coming to practices;
• We have Convenors present for all Novice & House games;
• Our timekeepers are trained, knowledgeable, dependable, independent & are paid;
